Annie Howarth | Mind Architect

‘Life’s been quite the journey, and I wouldn’t change a thing…’

I’m originally from Cheshire in the UK (that’s up north, near Manchester for those keeping track!), but life has taken me on quite an adventure. I’ve lived and worked across Europe, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Northern Asia before finally landing in beautiful Adelaide, Australia – and I can honestly say this feels like home.

Recently married for the first time (yes, at my age – life’s full of surprises!), I’m still working through this wonderful new chapter. My husband and I are completely devoted to our three rescue cats, who’ve trained us well as slaves and rule our household.

These days I’m juggling launching my coaching business with ongoing study – it’s full-on but I am loving it. When I do steal some downtime, you’ll find me hiking through the stunning Adelaide Hills, trying to balance my love of good food and cooking with regular gym sessions (the eternal struggle!).

With my unique coaching and mentoring expertise for people just like you I’m here to guide you from where you are now to where you want to be in your career and in your life

I get it – you are someone who:

  • Battles imposter syndrome – even though your achievements speak for themselves
  • Feels burned out before you’ve even properly started your career
  • Knows your personal and professional lives are unbalanced
  • Has wisdom to share but struggles with executive and leadership presence
  • Needs to fine-tune your sales approach but struggles with feeling pushy or inauthentic
  • Is barely surviving a toxic workplace
  • Dreads another day in a job that’s lost its meaning
  • Watches others get promoted while thinking “What about me?”
  • Feels stuck and overwhelmed by career chaos or life transitions
  • Dreams of breaking free and procrastinates about making change and embracing retirement
  • Lies awake worrying about necessary but terrifying career changes like redundancy
  • Looks in the mirror after major changes and wonders “Who am I now?”
  • Wants to hone your presentation skills, relationship skills and mindset

I see you. I’ve experienced this too.

Let’s have a real conversation about where you are right now. My complimentary discovery call isn’t about selling – it’s about understanding your world and seeing if I can help you work through it with ease.

I bring proven coaching and mentoring approaches combined with genuine commitment to your success. I’ll provide the accountability and motivation you need to maintain momentum so each session. I promise you will leave every session feeling lighter, focused, and energised ready for action!

What I bring to your sessions:

  • Genuine warmth, empathy, and on occasion a quirky sense of humour – I create a safe space where you can explore obstacles honestly (and maybe even laugh a little)
  • Award-winning sales expertise – I help you sell yourself authentically without feeling pushy or fake
  • Certified 360 Emotional Intelligence Practitioner Adelaide – I know the psychology behind your struggles and breakthroughs and can assist with illuminating your blind spots
  • Resilience from surviving and thriving in toxic workplaces – I know how to help you escape and flourish
  • Hard-won wisdom from major life and career transitions – I know the fear and excitement of significant change
  • Strength forged through overcoming discrimination – I bring deep insight into rising above unfair treatment
  • Decades of healthcare experience South Australia and globally  – I speak your language and truly know your world

Let’s Chat First: Give me a call for a friendly, no-pressure 15-minute chat (or drop me an email if that’s easier). Ask me anything you’d like – I’m refreshingly honest, straightforward, and speak plain English – no jargon. Then you can decide what feels right for you.

Step 1: Plan Together If it feels like a good fit, we’ll meet up (in person or virtually – whatever works for you) to talk about what you’re hoping to achieve. You’ll share your thoughts, goals and aspirations then together we’ll create a plan that’s totally tailored to you.

Step 2: Your Personal Roadmap We’ll create a coaching journey just for you using methods that actually work. We’ll meet for at least six sessions (or more – completely your choice) to give you the best chance of success.

Step 3: Making It Happen This is where the magic occurs! We’ll work through your plan together, check in regularly, and I’ll be right there cheering you on while keeping you accountable.

Step 4: Lasting Results & New Beginnings When you start hitting those goals (and you will!), we’ll take time to celebrate how far you’ve come.

My goal is to ensure you leave each session feeling lighter, more positive, and with heightened self-awareness and clarity. I’ll help you develop the resilience, skills, and strategies you need to thrive in your work and life, often leading to transformative changes.

My approach blends warmth, expertise, reliable support, and insightful questions to help you move from where you are to where you want to be.

With decades of experience working through healthcare, corporate environments, and life transitions, I bring a mature perspective and a wealth of wisdom to our sessions. I’m also told I possess a wicked sense of humour, and it’s 100% authentic! I’ve used humour to disarm tough situations in corporate settings, and now I bring it to create positive coaching experiences.

My passion for coaching stems from knowing firsthand how transformative the right support can be. Having worked through my own career transitions and obstacles, I’m driven to help others avoid some of the struggles I faced and accelerate their success.

Together, we’ll work on releasing old, limiting habits and cultivating new ones.

‘Why I moved from Corporate to Coaching…’

Corporate life in medical devices and clinical healthcare isn’t for the faint-hearted, and I’m proud of my continuous service throughout my working life. It was demanding, busy, often stressful – but I absolutely loved it. I miss the great relationships I created, discussing technical product features with surgeons and healthcare teams, being in theatre offering case support and advice.

Then I reached a stage where I needed a change. Continually achieving corporate milestones and sales targets started to become stale and less meaningful. After hard work, rigorous courses, study and exams, I became a certified coach.

Why coaching? It’s positive, forward-looking, motivating, impactful and meaningful. It works when done properly, and it allows me to use my experiences to help you.

My mission is to provide robust coaching and mentoring expertise to people working in healthcare and other industries across Australia and beyond. I partner with clients to build your armour – or as my coach once told me, “put on your tin knickers!”

My Qualifications and Experience…

I’ve got the formal qualifications – certifications in coaching, leadership, sales, and marketing – but more importantly, I’ve actually done the jobs my clients are doing. I’ve worked in high-pressure healthcare environments, managed teams, hit sales targets, and navigated corporate politics.

The difference is I don’t just talk about these challenges from a textbook – I’ve lived them. And I’ve figured out what actually works when you’re dealing with difficult bosses, impossible targets, and the kind of workplace complexity that keeps people awake at 3am.

I’m a lifelong learner, constantly updating my skills with a particular focus on neuroscience and neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to literally rewire itself. This isn’t motivational theory; it’s hard science that drives how I work with clients.

I started my career as a Therapy Radiographer in Manchester, London, and the Middle East, working with cancer patients undergoing radiation treatment. This role taught me how to build trust quickly, communicate complex information clearly, and connect with people during difficult times – skills that became invaluable throughout my career.

I then moved into Medical Device Sales, Training, and Marketing, working with global companies and startups, and eventually owning my own medical distribution business. The combination of healthcare experience and sales taught me what motivates people and how relationships really work in professional settings.

After decades of that, I had an epiphany: I’d become an expert in the stuff that actually matters – reading people, building real credibility, and knowing what works when the textbook solutions don’t. In 2024, I decided to make that my day job.
